In 1989, White Rock, BC resident Mitchell Drumel mysteriously disappeared without a trace, leaving his kids, Megan and Jason, reeling and confused.

Seven years later, Jason hears an obscure radio show that suggests his dad was abducted to another planet through a portal in the town’s eponymous White Rock. Megan, a firm skeptic, is certain it’s a baseless conspiracy theory, but Jason becomes increasingly fixated on proving its truth. Then, he disappears. As Megan searches for her brother, everything she believes starts to unravel.

Way Out There is an exciting, genre-bending new musical about the mysterious and unexplained. Its musical influences include alternative rock artists like Radiohead, Alanis Morissette, and The Smashing Pumpkins.

It explores themes of loss and grief while challenging audiences to consider whether believing in the absurd is really so crazy after all.
